About Omar
Dr. Omar Mir serves as International Board Member for World Wide Technology (WWT), directing the company's global growth strategy and EBITDA. Since establishing WWT's UK presence in 2015, Dr. Mir has scaled the international business from inception to multi-billion-dollar organic revenue across world-leading organizations. In addition to his international leadership responsibilities, he is the benefactor of WWT's EMEA entity. In this capacity, Dr. Mir positions the organization as a trusted strategic partner, bridging global AI hubs across the United States, United Kingdom, Europe, and the Middle East, while enabling accelerated deployment into other US-centric international markets to deliver cutting-edge technology and advanced innovation at scale.
His influence extends across the global technology ecosystem as an advisor and investor. Dr. Mir holds strategic advisory roles with major US technology industry giants and financial services organizations, as well as with bleeding-edge start-ups, unicorns, and innovators. His investment portfolio reflects a strong track record across US government-backed disruptive technologies and leading global technology firms, advocating for technological sovereignty and national competitiveness. At the same time, Dr. Mir remains deeply embedded within the UK technology landscape, supporting British AI companies and innovation initiatives.
In the public and academic spheres, Dr. Mir holds several high-level appointments. He serves as Chair of AI and Advanced Technologies for the Sustainable Markets Initiative to HM King Charles III and as Advisor on AI and Advanced Technology to The King's Trust International. His academic contributions include serving on the Imperial College Business School London Advisory Board and an appointment as Honorary Visiting Professor. Dr. Mir also acts as Strategic Advisor to the Commandant of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.
Dr. Mir's philanthropic efforts are centered on human empowerment and social equity. As Principal Benefactor of HM King Charles III's The King's Trust International and Founding Principal of the "Generation Potential" campaign, he supports an initiative aimed at empowering one million young people over the next decade. This commitment to social impact is further demonstrated through his personal support of over 50,000 children via educational initiatives, as well as through his roles as board observer for WeProtect, AI Advisor to the development community for the Woolf Institute, and honorary board member of the Dwight D. Opperman Foundation, The American Ballet Theatre, and the Holocaust Museum.
While based in London, Dr. Mir is an avid pilot and enthusiast of the African wilderness, often flying Cessna planes over remote regions. He also has a deep-rooted passion for equestrianism and is associated with HM Princess Royal Anne's Riding Disability Association. Dr. Mir's approach to global business, leadership, and philanthropy is informed by a profound interest in history, philosophy, and culture, and is underpinned by a doctorate in Philosophy and Sociology, alongside a master's degree in Security Studies and Strategic Global Risk Management.
