About Thomas
As Chief Financial Officer, Tom Strunk is responsible for ensuring WWT has the working capital financing and operating structure in place to support its ambitious goals and mission. His leadership and vision are widely recognized as key components to the company's transformational growth from a small startup in the 1990s into a global technology solutions provider with more than $17 billion in revenue.
Brought on in 1994 as WWT's 21st employee, Tom's growth mentality and investment mindset has helped shape the identity of the company today — working diligently to help WWT capitalize on major investments such as the Advanced Technology Center (ATC), supply chain integration centers, the company's global expansion into more than 130 countries and broadening of its go to market strategy. Just as integral, Tom and his team have supported this transformational growth, while largely maintaining WWT's original ownership structure under founders Dave Steward and Jim Kavanaugh.
Tom also leads WWT's Facilities, Legal and Environmental, Social and Governance teams, and he is largely responsible for working closely with other longtime executive team members Jim Kavanaugh (CEO), Joe Koenig (President), Ann Marr (EVP Global Human Resources) and others to create and develop WWT's Integrated Management and Leadership program, which underpins the company's award-winning culture and ability to make a positive impact on its people, communities and customers.
Tom routinely delivers company-wide development sessions that center around WWT core values such as trust, coaching and having difficult conversations. He's also the executive sponsor of WWT ABLE, an internal employee resource group that strives to create a culture of awareness and inclusion in the workforce for people with disabilities and their families — an area he is particularly passionate about as he has an adult daughter with Autism.
A former soccer teammate of WWT CEO Jim Kavanaugh at Saint Louis University, Tom is an ardent soccer fan and has an ownership stake in MLS' Saint Louis City SC team. And he remains active as a board member of the St. Louis Scott Gallagher soccer club as well as the St. Louis Sports Commission and Edward Jones YMCA.
He lives in the St. Louis-area with his wife, with which he has three grown children. When not at work, he can be frequently found with fellow supporters of Saint Louis SC or with his family, which also includes two grandchildren.
