Zach has spent 15+ years bouncing between breaking networks (professionally, with paperwork) and fixing the ones other people broke. Along the way he racked up real adversary tradecraft, a GCIA he's renewed five times (deep love of packet captures, or a mild quirk, jury's still out), and a healthy distrust of any dashboard that claims everything is fine. He started in Computer Network Operations within the Intelligence Community, then defected to the Blue Team as an engineer, responder, and manager. Turns out defense pays fine and the pager still goes off at 3 a.m. At WWT, he's a Technical Solutions Architect obsessed with everything EDR/XDR, SOAR, and the security operations teams running on caffeine and alert fatigue. Lately that means keeping pace with AI's arrival in the SOC, sorting out where it actually earns a seat versus where it's just another alert generator. But the real pattern in Zach's career isn't the tech, it's the teaching. He'd rather hand that knowledge off to the next generation of SOC analysts than keep hoarding it, and he's made a habit of leaving people (and networks) better than he found them.
