Solution overview
Traditionally, when Service Providers want to add fiber internet service, commonly a Passive Optical Network (PON), to their existing networks, they must add a dedicated Optical Line Terminal (OLT) appliance to enable these services. This is no longer the case with the introduction of Cisco's Routed PON solution. The existing NCS routing architecture can be used, and an OLT Pluggable can be added to enable the PON service. This lab utilizes Cisco's Routed PON Manager to manage the Routed PON Network, connected to WWT's Multi-Layer, Multi-Vendor (MLMV) architecture.
