NetApp ONTAP SAN Fundamentals

This NetApp ONTAP SAN Fundamentals lab provides a guided hands-on experience through setting up and testing an iSCSI SAN environment. This is a virtualized environment, running on the NetApp ONTAP Simulator version 9.18.1, as well as several host OS to test various functions.

This is a guided lab through setting up and testing the following with NetApp ONTAP through the System Manager web interface:

• Enabling the iSCSI service on a Windows client
• Creating a iSCSI SAN SVM
• Creating a LUN 
• Connecting to the LUN from the Windows client
• Initializing, formatting, and testing the LUN from the Windows client

• 2x NetApp Ontap Simulator 9.18.1
• Windows 11 Jumpbox/Client
• Windows 2022 Server with Active Directory and DNS (unused)
• Ubuntu Linux Server 24.04 (unused)
