Working with NetApp ONTAP Snapmirror

This NetApp ONTAP Snapmirror lab provides a guided hand-on experience for learning how Snapmirror replication functions, including how to configure, validate, access data, and break or reverse the  relationships. This is a virtualized environment, running on the NetApp ONTAP Simulator version 9.18.1, using a Windows Jump Box as a the management and access client.

Goals and Objectives

This is a guided lab through learning how to configure snapmirror replication, manage the schedules of replication, and how to access the data or break a replication relationship.

• Configure peering relationships on the cluster and SVMs
• Create the snapmirror relationship
• Adjusting or pausing replication schedules
• Breaking a snapmirror replication relationship
• Recovering or reversing a snapmirror replication relationship

• 2x NetApp Ontap Simulator 9.18.1
• Windows 11 Jumpbox/Client
• Windows 2022 Server with Active Directory and DNS (unused)
• Ubuntu Linux Server 24.04 (unused)
