How to Escape AI's 'Open Bar' Era: Intelligent Token Routing
About WWT & AMD Partnership
As an AMD partner, World Wide Technology (WWT) helps organizations deploy AI and high-performance computing (HPC) solutions built on AMD AI technologies. From EPYC processors for general-purpose and compute-intensive server workloads to Instinct accelerators for AI training and inference, WWT helps customers align infrastructure investments with workload requirements. Every platform can be tested and validated in WWT's Advanced Technology Center (ATC) before deployment.
Together, WWT and AMD deliver scalable solutions that support AI, analytics, and HPC workloads from the data center to the edge, helping organizations evaluate, design, and optimize infrastructure for performance and efficiency.

WWT x AMD FAQs
WWT is an AMD partner delivering AI solutions for enterprise — EPYC CPUs, Instinct GPUs and hands-on testing in the ATC. Explore common questions.
Three things: core density against your actual workload profile, memory bandwidth per socket and total cost per rack rather than per chip. EPYC's high core counts favor virtualization and compute-dense workloads, but the advantage varies sharply by application. WWT benchmarks EPYC configurations against customer workloads in the Advanced Technology Center (ATC) before purchase, so the comparison against Intel Xeon is measured on your software rather than a vendor datasheet.
Helios is AMD's rack-scale AI infrastructure architecture, aimed at deployments where power, cooling and rack density are the binding constraints rather than raw accelerator count. It matters most to enterprises planning AI factory buildouts, where the rack is the unit of design. WWT has published a partner analysis of the Helios architecture and evaluates AMD rack-scale configurations in the AI Proving Ground within the ATC.
ROCm now reaches roughly 90-95% of H100 throughput for standard LLM inference on PyTorch, vLLM and SGLang. The remaining gap is in specialized libraries: many competitors have no ROCm equivalent, and their custom kernels require manual porting. If your stack is standard, AMD's cost advantage holds; if it depends on competitor-only libraries, it does not. WWT tests both paths against customer code in the ATC's AI Proving Ground.
Platform selection, workload validation and multi-OEM deployment. AMD sells silicon; the enterprise decision is which configuration, from which OEM, for which workload. WWT holds AMD platforms in the ATC — including an LLM Router and an agent workload running on Instinct MI250 and MI250X accelerators — so teams can benchmark before committing capital, then deploy through Dell, HPE, Cisco or Lenovo.
Memory capacity per node usually decides it. AMD Instinct MI350 carries 288GB of HBM3e at 8TB/s against 180GB on a competitors GPU — enough to serve very large models on a single node instead of splitting across GPUs, which is where AMD's cost-per-token case comes from. Some competitors still leads on low-latency inference. Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure run Instinct in production. WWT benchmarks both in the AI Proving Ground.
