Washington, D.C. – February 12, 2021 – World Wide Technology (WWT), a market-leading technology solution provider, today announced that five of its technologists and engineers were named "Modern-Day Technology Leaders" at the 2021 Black Engineer of the Year Awards (BEYA) Ceremony, held during the 35th annual BEYA STEM Global Competitiveness Conference. Traditionally held in Washington, D.C., this year's conference, which took place February 11-13, 2021, was held virtually to ensure the safety of registrants. 

The BEYA Modern-Day Technology Leaders Award recognizes an individual's commitment to shaping the future of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) by developing cutting-edge technology or doing research for leading industries.

The WWT Modern-Day Technology Leader award winners include:

  • Salah Ferrell, Consulting Systems Engineer 
  • Tiona Harris, Operations Supervisor
  • Monica Lyons, Project Engineer
  • James Pittman, Engineering Team Lead
  • LaDonald Townley Jr., Lead Technician

The Modern-Day Technology Leader award winners were honored during the Technology Recognition Event which took place on February 12 during the 2021 BEYA STEM Conference. The BEYA STEM Conference brings military leaders, professionals, and students together for three days to share their experiences and career information.
