Leading IT integrator orchestrates development of award-winning NFV solution

St. Louis, MO – August 23, 2017 – World Wide Technology (WWT), a leading integrator that provides innovative technology and supply chain solutions to large public and private organizations, today announced that it received the Intel®Technology Provider program North America NFV Partner of the Year award. WWT was honored for its work with Intel and other partners to launch a new facility in its Advanced Technology Center (ATC) for testing and validating NFV solutions. The award was presented at the 2017 Intel Solutions Summit in Dallas, TX.

Based on past use cases, the ATC is expected to validate NFV solutions four times faster – from 6-12 months to 90 days – reducing overall costs by 30 percent.

"The ATC provides telco operators and service providers with the tools to arrive at a NFV solution with the flexibility, cost savings, scale and security promised on paper," said Bob Olwig, VP of Business Development and Innovation at WWT. "It is an honor to receive this distinction from Intel, a respected company in the NFV space, whose chips are powering these new types of networks."

Announced back in February 2017, Intel along with Cisco and Red Hat contributed advanced cloud, networking, and DevOps technologies to WWT's existing ATC for testing IT systems. Given the complexity of the NFV landscape and the number of partners and solutions involved in the mix, the ATC provides much needed guidance to customers looking for assurances on interoperability and results.

The ATC has helped reduce the time, cost and risk associated in rolling out NFV. All the tools for validating NFV sits within one roof. After testing, a customer's design can be directly transferred to one of WWT's many supply chain facilities for immediate implementation, and as a leader in on-demand Lab-as-a-Service (LaaS), WWT can conduct this testing virtually for any customer, regardless of their location.

"Aligning network function virtualization solutions to speed NFV adoption is one of the most complex data center problems facing our industry today," said Greg Baur, Vice President of Sales Marketing Group for Americas Regional Sales Group at Intel. "WWT took on this challenge by using Intel architecture to achieve our shared vision of network transformation."
