Shane Owen is a Technical Solutions Architect II – Security with World Wide Technology's Advanced Technology Center (ATC), where he helps customers evaluate, validate, and operationalize cybersecurity technologies through proof of concepts, lab environments, and security validation engagements. His work focuses on the intersection of security operations, exposure management, and emerging AI-driven cybersecurity capabilities. Shane specializes in helping organizations translate complex security challenges into measurable outcomes through security validation, detection engineering, operational security, and AI-enabled cybersecurity workflows. With more than 20 years of experience in incident response, threat detection, and SOC operations, Shane has worked extensively with EDR and XDR platforms, SIEM and SOAR technologies, identity security, and Zero Trust architectures. Within the ATC, he leads customer-facing proof of concepts, lab services engagements, and technology evaluations that help organizations understand how security solutions perform in real-world environments. Shane is an active contributor to WWT's cybersecurity thought leadership, writing and speaking on topics including AI-driven vulnerability discovery, exposure management, Continuous Threat Exposure Management (CTEM), detection engineering, security validation, and the operational challenges of securing enterprise environments in the age of AI. He holds an active Top Secret/SCI clearance and is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity at Abilene Christian University. Outside of work, Shane volunteers with Texas Search and Rescue (TEXSAR) and supports veterans and first responders through Heroes on the Water.
