Shane Owen is a Technical Solutions Architect II – Security within World Wide Technology’s Advanced Technology Center (ATC), where he designs, builds, and validates advanced cybersecurity solutions through hands-on proof of concept development, lab environments, and real-world simulation. His work focuses on the intersection of AI, detection engineering, and security operations. He helps customers move from theory to execution by translating emerging threats, including agentic AI risk and model-assisted vulnerability discovery, into practical detection, response, and security architecture strategies. Shane operates as a bridge between architecture and operations. He brings over 20 years of hands-on experience across incident response, threat detection, and SOC operations, combined with deep expertise in EDR and XDR platforms, SIEM and SOAR, identity security, and zero trust architectures. His background includes leading cyber operations, maturing SOC capabilities, and supporting enterprise and Department of Defense environments where solutions must perform under real-world attack conditions. Within the ATC, Shane leads and contributes to proof of concept development, security validation exercises, and customer-facing solution design. He works directly with customers, account teams, and OEM partners to evaluate technologies, build realistic testing scenarios, and accelerate adoption of security capabilities that are operationally viable. He is actively focused on advancing AI-driven cybersecurity capabilities, including model-assisted vulnerability discovery, detection engineering for AI systems, and the integration of AI into enterprise security workflows. Shane holds an active Top Secret/SCI clearance and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity at Abilene Christian University, maintaining a 4.0 GPA. He is also continuing to expand his expertise in digital forensics and incident response. Outside of work, he volunteers with Texas Search and Rescue (TEXSAR) and supports veterans and first responders through Heroes on the Water.
