PowerStore Intra-Cluster Migration
A powerful feature of Dell Technologies' PowerStore array is the ability to non-disruptively move data from one appliance to another within a cluster. The primary volumes as well as any snapshots will move as part of the migration. This video demonstrates the intra-cluster migration functionality and a snapshot restore once on the target system.
This demo will show off PowerStore's intra-cluster data migration functionality and snapshot portability. The environment consists of:
- PowerStore cluster
- PowerStore 5000T
- PowerStore 500T
- Two ESXi hosts
- One Windows Server 2016 VM with two 75GB drives presented by PowerStore
- fio workload generation utility running against the migrating LUNs
- Two MDS-9706 Fibre Channel directors
It walks through creating a demo snapshot, migrating the data from the 5000T to the 500T, and a snapshot restore on the target array, the PowerStore 500T.
