Workplace transformation initiatives require integration of disparate tools with new platforms, whether for chat, presence, voice, videoconferencing or mobile. A single server allows for seamless integration and interoperability of all collaboration clients and provides higher density for conferencing. 

Cisco Meeting Server is a solution that helps deliver a single user experience regardless of the endpoint that is being used to access the conferencing space.

This sandbox allows the user to configure and see the advanced interoperability and scalability features of Cisco Meeting Server (CMS), formerly Acano.

Goals & Objectives

This lab provides a sandbox environment where a user can configure and familiarize them self with Cisco Meeting Server. It was designed to help the technical engineer that will configure and maintain the system. There is a step by step guide that will walk you through the procedures that is necessary for Cisco and Microsoft to integrate with Cisco Meeting Server. Time to completion on this lab may take up to 8 hours.

Once the lab is completed, you will be able validate conference access between the different clients and test beyond the scripted guide.

Hardware & Software

This lab will be accomplished by utilizing components in the Cisco Collaboration and Microsoft Collaboration product portfolio.

  • Jabber for Windows 11.7 
  • Cisco IM and Presence 11.5(1) 
  • Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) 11.5(1) 
  • Cisco Unity Connection 11.5(1) 
  • Microsoft Lync 2013 
  • Microsoft Exchange 2013
