About HashiCorp & WWT

WWT is a Hyper-Specialized partner collaborating with HashiCorp, an IBM company, to enable infrastructure modernization across private, public, and hybrid cloud environments. HashiCorp's platform is organized around two integrated lifecycle disciplines — Infrastructure Lifecycle Management (ILM) and Security Lifecycle Management (SLM) — that together form The Infrastructure Cloud, a unified approach to provisioning, managing, securing, and governing infrastructure at scale.

Customers can rely on WWT's infrastructure automation experts, powered by our Advanced Technology Center (ATC), to design and validate solutions using Terraform Enterprise and Vault Enterprise to accelerate secure, scalable cloud modernization.

Partner Overview | Introducing HashiCorp Agent Skills

HashiCorp introduces Agent Skills, enhancing AI assistants with specialized knowledge for Terraform and Packer. These Skills streamline DevOps workflows, offering guidance on provider development, code generation and image building. By integrating domain expertise, they reduce errors and improve efficiency, promising a transformative impact on infrastructure management.

HashiCorp Solutions: Terraform & Vault

WWT's HashiCorp practice centers on Terraform and Vault — the two products at the core of HashiCorp's ILM and SLM portfolios. Together they provide a powerful foundation for automated, secure infrastructure and identity management across hybrid and multicloud environments.

Terraform — Infrastructure Lifecycle Management (ILM)

Terraform is the industry-standard Infrastructure as Code (IaC) platform and the cornerstone of HashiCorp's ILM portfolio. ILM uses infrastructure as code at its core to provide a single system of record to provision, manage, and govern resources — giving teams the automation, consistency, and visibility they need to cut costs, deliver faster, and eliminate complexity across all environments.

Terraform has evolved well beyond Day 0/Day 1 provisioning, including:

  • Terraform Stacks: Deploy related configurations across environments as a single unit with automatic cross-stack dependency management.
  • Terraform Actions (beta): Codify Day 2 operations (patching, scaling, compliance) alongside infrastructure code, with native Ansible playbook integration.
  • Terraform Search (beta): Bulk-discover and import existing cloud resources to accelerate IaC onboarding.
  • Terraform MCP Server (beta): Natural language interaction with HCP Terraform via AI assistants and IDEs using the Model Context Protocol.
  • Project Infragraph (private beta): Real-time infrastructure knowledge graph powering agentic automation, with roadmap integrations to watsonx, Ansible, OpenShift, Turbonomic, and Cloudability.

Vault — Security Lifecycle Management (SLM)

Vault Enterprise is the foundation of HashiCorp's SLM portfolio, enabling organizations to centrally secure secrets, credentials, certificates, and encryption keys using an identity-based, policy-driven approach. SLM works hand-in-hand with ILM to ensure that security is embedded throughout the infrastructure lifecycle rather than bolted on afterward.

Recent SLM enhancements strengthen Vault's capabilities for dynamic, automated environments:

  • Protected Secrets (public beta): Mounts secrets directly to Kubernetes pods without persistent storage, eliminating a significant attack surface for containerized workloads.
  • Native SPIFFE Support: Automates cryptographically verifiable workload identity issuance at machine speed, critical for dynamic environments and AI infrastructure at scale.
  • Vault Radar IDE Plugin (public beta): Provides real-time secrets scanning within the developer environment, shifting security left and addressing secrets management as a behavior problem at the point of code creation.
  • Boundary RDP Credential Injection (public beta): Extends zero-trust passwordless access to Windows hosts, completing the secure access story across infrastructure.

Vault provides dynamic, short-lived credentials to reduce security risk and support zero-trust practices across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments. Combined with Terraform's ILM capabilities, the result is security that scales with infrastructure rather than constraining it.

How HashiCorp + WWT Drives Success

As a Hyper-Specialized partner, WWT provides services, solutions, and resell capabilities across HashiCorp's open-source and enterprise offerings. Our team helps clients:

  • Assess and plan — Evaluate IaC maturity, audit Day 2 operational gaps, and design Terraform and Vault adoption strategies aligned to business outcomes.
  • Accelerate deployment — Leverage WWT's ATC, which hosts Terraform Enterprise and Vault Enterprise, for hands-on proof-of-concept work, lab-based training, and validated reference architectures.
  • Extend across the IBM ecosystem — Integrate Terraform with Red Hat Ansible for configuration management, Vault with OpenShift for container security, and IBM watsonx Code Assistant for AI-assisted Terraform code generation.
