Cisco has announced the phased retirement of the UCS 6200 Series Fabric Interconnects (FIs). Organizations must begin planning to refresh to the latest version of FIs — the Cisco UCS 6400 Series — to avoid gaps in product support and to start leveraging new features for optimal performance.

Upgrading to the Cisco UCS 6400 Series FIs allows organizations to connect to Cisco Intersight, Cisco's latest infrastructure management (IM) platform. The full-featured release of Cisco Intersight, which offers cloud-based, single-interface management, is expected in the second half of 2020.
