Core Routing Fundamentals
Before a core network can provide advanced services and traffic engineering, it must first establish basic transport connectivity between its nodes. In this course, you will learn how interior routing protocols are used to establish dynamic routing within the core, how MPLS technology is used to enhance packet transport across the underlay, and how Segment Routing is changing the way we think about transport paths. In each module you will watch a brief video describing the underlying technology and then walk through a hands-on lab to dive deeper into the relevant protocols and configurations that make underlay routing work.
Segment Routing Technical Training
Segment Routing is the latest technology that replaces MPLS and is based on source routing. Segment Routing provides complete control over the forwarding path from the source node by encoding the path in the header of the packet. Segment Routing is implemented using extensions to the native IGP routing protocols, it does not require any additional protocols and removes unnecessary protocols simplifying the network. Segment Routing runs natively on an MPLS or IPv6 data plane and can coexist with LDP, making for a painless migration.

SRv6 uSID Lab
SRv6 utilizes the IPv6 data plane natively to deliver Segment Routing capabilities which dramatically simplifies network deployments. By eliminating the need for MPLS label shims and transporting SRv6 SIDs as IPv6 addresses, any IPv6 capable router can forward an SRv6 packet. This means that you can run SRv6 services over any IPv6-enabled infrastructure. This lab will introduce you to the basics of SRv6 with L3VPN over a purely IPv6 transport.

CNC SR-MPLS Core Networking Guided Lab
This WWT-guided lab demonstrates several aspects of Cisco's Crossword Network Controller (CNC) in conjunction with Cisco NSO, including path control with Cisco SR-PCE (Path Computational Engine). CNC is a Segment Routing SDN Controller for transport networks. CNC allows an operator to create and manage VPN and Transport services with diverse SLAs, such as disjointness, bandwidth awareness, or low latency. It provides for creating engineered transport paths using SR-TE parameters and provisioning and linking VPN services to these paths. CNC performs real-time network optimization based on current network conditions utilizing the Crosswork Optimization Engine in conjunction with Cisco's IOS-XR-based Segment Routing Path Computation Element or SR-PCE. Cisco NSO is also included and tightly coupled to CNC as the Provisioning engine.

IP Routing Lab for Optical Engineers
There is a movement in the industry to combine the optical network and the routed network, with Cisco leading the charge. The architecture is known as RON, Routed Optical Networks. With the RON architecture, the services that Optical Engineers are accustomed to delivering within the optical network are now provided via the routed network. Services such as site-to-site traffic demand, path selection, and path protection. With this shift in architecture, there is a growing requirement for optical engineers' expertise to span both optical and routing. This lab is designed to demonstrate how the routed network delivers these services and how to configure a basic RON network using Segment Routing.
SR-MPLS Traffic Engineering Lab
Organizations rely on MPLS on multiple platforms to deliver mission-critical applications and services. Segment Routing is the next-generation evolution of traditional MPLS, and here we look at SR-MPLS and Traffic Engineering. We will perform distributed Traffic Engineering computations from the headend routers and utilize an SR PCE for centralized traffic engineering.
